This spring Greencrest Manor editorial was the first styled wedding shoot my friend Stephanie put on. She had just launched her wedding planning business, Stephanie Abbitt Events, in February of this year.

Greencrest is one of the most sought after wedding venues in not only Michigan, but the Midwest. They don’t typically allow styled shoots, so we were incredibly thankful that the owner, Jenn, allowed us to be on sight to bring this vision to life. This was a ticketed event, and we had a total of 11 other photographers there photographing the editorial.

About Greencrest Manor in Battle Creek, Michigan

Greencrest Manor offers a beautiful tree-lined driveway, wrought iron gates, and truly makes you feel as though you’re about to enter a 17th century French Manor. The growing vines at the entrance add so much to the space.

This venue was originally established in 1935, and has many different spaces that would make the perfect backdrop for your day such as The Gardens, Maison des Fetes, Ceremony Lawn Deck, East and South Verandas, and several others!

The Invitation Suite & Flatlay Details

The color palette for this shoot was black, yellow, pink, tan and cream. Stephanie even added in brown as the accent color which was unique and was a theme throughout the entire editorial. It all came together wonderfully, and this editorial really played off of the garden theme that Greencrest Manor already provides.

It was so fun taking detail shots of this romantic wedding stationary by Maddie Laidig Designs. The entire invitation suite was inspired by the table details and architecture of Greencrest Manor. Everything about this styled shoot felt natural and complimented the beauty of the venue.

Ceremony, Cocktail Hour & Reception at Greencrest Manor

The vision for this Greencrest Manor ceremony space was “classic with a twist”. They incorporated a circular arrangement with not only the florals, but the seating as well. LB Floristry truly brought the vision together with soft romantic florals.

The tablescapes were very bloom focused and had long floral arrangements down the center along with candles by Applewood Candle Co. Rentals were from PR Rentals with the linen provided by BBJ La Tavola.

In addition, there was a tiered brown cake make by Designer Desserts Bakery. It had textured frosting and was surrounded by more florals which added in the perfect amount of color.

And last but certainly not least were the bridals. Kaitlyn and Zane really helped us bring this vision together. Zane wore a classic black tux which really allowed Kaitlyn to be the focus. The vision for the bride was effortless elegance with a touch of high fashion, and Kaitlyn truly embodied this. Allee Makeup did such a wonderful job as the HAMU artist for this shoot.

It was so fun to see everyone’s creativity come to light through the execution of this shoot. From the florals, rentals, hair, makeup, etc. It was truly an honor to have been a part of this team and to help bring the vision to life!
