Colorful Summer Journeyman Distillery Wedding in Michigan
The Dobrowolski’s Journeyman Distillery wedding in Three Oaks, Michigan was colorful, lush, and the perfect summer wedding celebration! Originally, Kelsey and Matt wanted a destination wedding somewhere tropical. After deciding to keep it close to home, they still wanted that tropical feel. White Dahlia Events really helped to bring their vision to life, and brought a slice of tropical paradise to South Michigan for Matt and Kelsey’s special day!
The color scheme for Kelsey and Matt’s Journeyman Distillery wedding was vibrant olive green, marigold yellow, terracotta, coral, peach, and blush with hints of gold and black. It was the perfect tropical color palette for this summer wedding.
A special detail about this wedding day was the incorporation of Kelsey’s sparkling wine company, Seppi. Kelsey comes from a long line of winemakers in Sonoma, California. You’ll notice throughout her wedding day just how much it was incorporated.
Kelsey and Matt got ready for the day separately. Matt spent the morning golfing with his groomsmen on Journeyman Distillery’s Welter’s Folly. Kelsey wore a custom-made dress that felt classic, elegant, and timeless paired with a lush bouquet made by LB Floristry. She and Matt shared a first look before the ceremony where we also got a few portraits of them.
The outdoor space for Kelsey and Matt’s wedding ceremony was beautiful. It was the perfect blend of modern and rustic elements. The focal point of the ceremony was a lush floral arch which had a colorful and vibrant mix of flowers, foliage, and green tropical leaves.
The ceremony was filled with both emotion and laughter. Kelsey and Matt are full of such happiness which is evident just through looking back on their entire wedding gallery!
After Kelsey and Matt’s Journeyman Distillery wedding ceremony, they headed indoors for their cocktail hour, where they greeted their guests with glasses of Seppi Rosé from the champagne wall and cart. After greeting and mingling guests, Kelsey and Matt also took a private moment to view their wedding reception space and take it all in.
After cocktail hour, guests were then welcomed into the Warren Hall reception space. It was a modern tropical fusion, and the details were just perfect. They had different styles and textures, custom yellow menus, and gold flatware. With Journeyman Distillery being an industrial style venue, they knew that adding a modern twist would really integrate with the tropical design. It came together seamlessly.
One request Matt had when it came to their Journeyman Distillery wedding was that he wanted to incorporate disco balls into the design. The White Dahlia team brought this vision to life through suspending a trellis over the dance floor and attaching disco balls while LB Floristry added in tropical leaves, flowers, and vines.
Not only was the design beautiful, but Journeyman Distillery created a delicious menu for Kelsey and Matt’s reception. For dessert, they had root beer floats, donuts, and a strawberries and cream cake from Bit of Swiss followed by Detroit style pizza and soft pretzels as a late night snack!
