For years, Ali’s been keeping a journal for the man that would one day take her hand and ask her to be his forever… During their engagement session I got to witness her surprising Jonathan with that journal and telling him how long she’d prayed and waited for him! It’s the little details like this that make wedding day photos stand out — and this couple was absolutely no exception!

Finally being able to see these two (who have patiently waited and prayed for one another before they even know each other) tie the knot on Saturday was a huge blessing! Steph and I kept saying how these are the kind of relationships and wedding days that are SO fun and SUCH a privilege to be a part of!! The ones where there’s no doubt the seriousness and weight that marriage holds. The ones where the groom pulls his bride tighter when the cameras are away, not the other way around.

Venue and Location

The whole day was honestly so magical! The day took place at Bread & Chocolate located in Goshen, Indiana. We thought we were going to have to head inside for portraits because of the temperature being below 30 degrees and calling for 10-15 mph winds, but it actually ended up being perfect!!! Definitely chilly for sure, but no wind at all and a winter wonderland of snow covered trees and lightly falling flakes!! I’ve never actually had a winter wedding where it’s been so incredibly perfect. It added the perfect setting for the sweetest couple and the beautiful winter wedding palette made for some of my favorite wedding photos to date!!

Saturday also marked our last wedding of 2017, so we basically couldn’t have gone out any better!! To add sweet icing to the cake, Steph (my second shooter for those who don’t know) and I’s birthday was on Saturday!! Yep, we share the same one! So it was an extra special day all around!

Ali + Jonathan, you guys are seriously one of the sweetest couples! I still can’t believe the privilege of sharing alongside you in your wedding day photos on one of the best days of your lives and being able to be the one to capture all the love and joy you two have with each other!! The Lord has already blessed you guys SO much in giving you one another and I can’t wait to see the plans He has in store for you guys!! You’re already an example and inspiration to so many couples and I’m sure that will continue for years to come! Thanks again for letting me celebrate with you both on your wedding day! Cheers to 60 more years!
