So since I finally got around to doing a year end recap for the “Best of Weddings & Couples 2017“, I figured it was only fitting to make sure you guys all knew what was going on on the other side of the camera.

For those who don’t know, Stephanie Abbitt is my second shooter, an amazing stylist, my second arm in my business and one of my very best friends… but more than all that, she is a killer model for all my test shots, so if you didn’t know her before, you’ll get to see her fun loving personality real quick!

So if you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to have us be your photographers… wonder no more.

We’ll always make sure to show up to your day energized!

Because ain’t nobody got time for sleepy photographers…

Well maybe a few yawns will be seen, but it’s only because of all the hard work of photographing the most important day of your life!

And since it’s such an important day, we take our job REALLY seriously…

… and execute our different systems well, like bridal detail shots in the morning where we make sure to keep everything really tidy.

On any given wedding day you can find Steph setting up our detail shots like a champ! She’s why we have so many pretty pics of all the details you spend so long picking out!

She also has a time allotted each wedding where she works with the bride to get all the up-close details…

She’s also a professional dress fluffer!

She’s so famous at it that sometimes others want in on the action to learn from her…

And when she’s not doing detail shots or fluffing the dress, you can most likely find her modeling for different locations for me.

I think she really loves that part of the job the best…

Occasionally she has to warm up to it, but once she gets going, she’s truly in her happy place.

Even though modeling is probably her favorite task of the day, I think she really loves holding ALL the things…

And don’t even get me started on her love for nature…

Except when nature brings you massive wasps that are trying to come in the building.

Yep, you could say she’s pretty much the best!

And while Steph’s over there holding all the things, fluffing the dress and loving on nature, you can most likely find me somewhere being super professional and classy…

Or climbing up walls to get the shot…

Or trying to NOT be 5’11”…

And for any reason if you can’t find me doing any of those things above, come look under the brides veil and there’s a good chance I might be there…

You’ll also most definitely find me doing twirls throughout the day.

 

But it’s just so that you can execute it perfectly when it’s your turn!

 

We’ve definitely made a lot of memories this year…

Like that time we had a flower girl intern for the day…

Or when we got to try out the veil fluffing skills for the first time on a baseball field…

Or when we were pretty sure we were going to fall off the back of the golf cart…

 

Some of our very favorite memories have been sharing these wedding days with some of our favorite vendors!

Because it’s truly so much better with friends!!

 

We want you to know that we really try our hardest to take great care of our couples. So you can expect to never have a hair out of place…

And to always be given the best directions…

And above all, to always have a great time with a lot of laughs!

 

And of course, a LOT of boomerangs!

 

Because you all mean SO much to us!!

And because these reactions to all the hard work are SO worth it!!

2017 has been pretty incredible! Thanks to all the amazing couples and vendor friends that truly make the best job in the whole world. 2018, we’re coming for ya!!
