Mr. + Mrs. Baker | A Black Tie Wedding in Downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana
David caught Marykate’s eye early on when she got to see him loving on kiddos in the club they were both a part of in college. She knew they already shared the mutual love of their Boilermakers, since they both attended Purdue University, but she was extra intrigued as she got to see more of his heart! All it took was running into each other at a local meet up spot to spark the connection. And what a connection it was! David soon realized how much he wanted to continue to get to know Marykate so he walked her home and asked when they could meet again. Their first date was spent talking for over 5 hours and shutting down the restaurant! They knew pretty early on this was something special.
And if you’ve been around Marykate and David for any length of time, I’m SURE you’ve caught on to just how special they are together! I’ve actually got to hang out with Marykate at two previous weddings where she was a bridesmaid, so when she messaged me about their wedding I was SO excited! I met David at McCormick + Luke’s wedding that she was a part of and instantly saw the spark between them! So when we got together for their engagement session at Holcomb Gardens in Indy, I was pretty excited! (If you haven’t had a chance to check that session out, you need to because it’s one of my very favorite to date!)
So walking into their wedding day I could hardly wait to hang out again. And this time it was even better because I knew at the end of this day they would finally be able to share last names! Watching David + Marykate throughout the day was one of the sweeter things I’ve seen on a wedding day. I remember saying to them during their portraits just how genuinely happy they seem. They kept commenting on how their cheeks were hurting because of smiling so much, but that wasn’t just because of the photos…. you couldn’t wipe the smiles off their face the whole day! Which made for a pretty joyful day for everyone!
Marykate + David, I can’t believe you’re FINALLY married! Yay!! Everything about you both together is exactly why this is the best job in the world to me! I got to learn your sweet love story and see the beginning of your lifelong legacy take place right in front of my eyes and it was SUCH a privilege! If you continue to carry the joy you had from your first day as husband and wife into your everyday commitment to each other, you’re going to have SUCH a great marriage! I can’t wait to see what all the Lord has in store for you from here! Thank you SO much for allowing me to be a part of this all with you! I had a BLAST!!
Congrats to the newlyweds, Mr. + Mrs. Baker!!
Venue and Location
The wedding ceremony took place at the beautiful St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in the quaint little town of Decatur, Indiana. There was so much history and tradition there since it had been a church that David’s family attended growing up!
The reception was held at the Courtyard Marriott in downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana. Be Married Events helped make the room amazing with all of their beautiful floral arrangements, and the cake by Sassie Cakes was to die for!
Enjoy some of my favorites from their special day!!
A huge thanks to the amazing vendors who came together and made this day perfect!
